Om Tryambakam Yajaamahe Sugandhim Pushtivardhanam
Urwaarukamiva Bandhanaan- Mrityormuksheeya Maa-Amritaat

The head priest of the Shiv temple was chanting the maha mrityunjaya Mantra 108 times on speaker with a steady, sacred rhythm. Devotees flowed in and out of the temple simultaneously. Some stood there, lost deep in devotion, whereas some gave quick glances and moved on. In one corner of the temple courtyard, an elderly woman had set up her small shop. Her wrinkled hands carefully arranging the diyas, belpatra, chandan, miniature Shivlings, pendants bearing Lord Shiva's image, and bundles of kalava Beside her sat a man, not much older but not young too, probably the old lady's son; attending another stall. He was selling fresh flowers, puja thalis, fruits and sweets meant for prasad.
